Not So Bad

Spellbound
Originally uploaded by sinistra.

As I sit here tempting fate,
I find new emotions to hate,
But that won't help me on my final date,
As I stand before the gate,
And Peter reads my book of tales,
All my dirty deeds unveiled,
Suddenly the ground gives way,
I fall into a pit of dismay,
All I know has gone away,
And my death sentence starts today,
But I'll burn happily,
I will burn while partying,
With Adolf Hitler and Mr. Ed,
Jack the ripper and some priest named Fred,
Maybe I'll meet some old friends too,
Some lawyers, hippies, and Jews,
But I know no matter what I do,
My screams will not be heard by you.

Por isso sou contra a poesia traduzida.

(Quanto muito chamar-lhe-iam "poesia reescrita noutra língua")

Não consigo imaginar uma forma de não perder o ritmo desse poema, se ele fosse traduzido.

Muito bom.
